TLC Nurse Solutions welcomes experienced Registered Nurses (RNs) and Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) interested in independent nursing opportunities throughout California.
As a women-owned, California-based nurse registry, TLC connects independent nurses with opportunities that may include private duty nursing, infusion therapy, specialty pharmacy referrals, healthcare facility support, post-surgical recovery, complex care, and other specialized nursing services.
Opportunities vary according to client and referral needs, location, scheduling, clinical requirements, nurse qualifications, experience, and availability. TLC does not guarantee assignments, hours, or ongoing work.
Our goal is to develop long-term professional relationships with independent nurses who bring strong clinical skills together with reliability, discretion, thoughtful communication, sound clinical judgment, adaptability, attention to detail, and respect for the people and organizations involved in each client’s care.
Independent Nursing Through a California Nurse Registry
Nurses participating in the TLC Nurse Solutions registry are independent contractors, not employees of TLC.
Independent nurses determine their own availability and may accept or decline opportunities based on their professional experience, qualifications, location, schedule, and interest. Nurses remain responsible for maintaining their professional licensure, required credentials, malpractice insurance, clinical judgment, and compliance with applicable professional requirements.
TLC serves as the coordinating agent between independent nurses and the clients and healthcare organizations seeking nursing services. Our role includes referral and scheduling coordination, credentialing, administrative support, documentation and billing coordination, payment processing, and communication related to nursing opportunities.
Services for clients introduced through TLC remain within TLC’s coordination structure in accordance with the applicable contractor agreement.
Nursing Opportunities Available Through TLC
The needs referred to TLC are diverse. Some clients require substantial recurring private duty schedules, including extended daytime, overnight, and ongoing nursing support. Healthcare organizations may need nurses for full shifts, recurring schedules, specialized programs, or supplemental clinical support. Specialty pharmacies and other healthcare partners may refer patients requiring experienced infusion nurses for prescribed therapies.
Nurses interested in working directly with individuals and families can learn more about our Private Duty Nursing services. These opportunities may include post-surgical recovery, hospital-to-home transitions, complex medical needs, aging in place, neurological conditions, transplant recovery, and other situations in which individualized nursing support is requested.
Registered Nurses with appropriate infusion experience may also be considered for Infusion Therapy opportunities coordinated with specialty pharmacies and other healthcare organizations.
Nurses interested in clinical settings outside the private home may be considered for opportunities associated with Healthcare Facility Nursing Support, depending on facility needs and individual qualifications.
Each opportunity is different. TLC provides available information so nurses can evaluate whether a particular referral is appropriate for their experience, scope of practice, availability, and professional interests before deciding whether to accept it.
The Nurses We Hope to Work With
Clinical experience matters, but the quality of a nursing relationship involves more than technical ability.
TLC values nurses who communicate clearly, arrive prepared, follow through on professional commitments, maintain appropriate boundaries, protect client privacy, complete required documentation accurately and on time, and approach each care environment with professionalism and respect.
We also value nurses who bring a calm, supportive presence to their work. Private homes, medical treatments, recovery periods, and complex healthcare situations can involve many moving pieces. A nurse who combines clinical competence with sound judgment, discretion, kindness, adaptability, and thoughtful communication can make an important contribution to the overall care experience.
These qualities are especially important because TLC works not only with individual clients and families, but also with specialty pharmacies, healthcare facilities, physicians, case managers, discharge planners, fiduciaries, and other professional referral partners.
Thoughtful Nurse and Opportunity Matching
Not every opportunity is appropriate for every nurse.
When considering potential referrals, TLC looks at factors such as RN or LVN licensure, clinical experience, specialty skills, geographic area, schedule, client needs, referral requirements, and nurse availability.
Some clients may benefit from consistency with one nurse whenever reasonably possible. Other situations may require several nurses to support an extended or recurring schedule. Specialty pharmacy and healthcare organization referrals may have specific clinical, documentation, credentialing, or scheduling requirements.
The goal is not simply to fill an opening. It is to identify nurses whose qualifications and availability align appropriately with the needs of the particular referral while allowing each independent nurse to decide whether an opportunity is right for them.
Opportunities Throughout California
TLC Nurse Solutions coordinates nursing services throughout California, from major metropolitan areas to rural and underserved communities.
Availability is driven by actual client, specialty pharmacy, healthcare facility, and referral partner needs and therefore changes over time. A nurse may join the registry even when there is not an immediate opportunity in their preferred area.
Because statewide referrals can arise in many different communities, nurses are encouraged to provide accurate information about the counties and geographic areas they are willing to serve.

Credentialing for Independent Nurses
Independent nurses must maintain the professional qualifications and documentation required for the services they provide.
TLC’s credentialing process generally includes verification of an active California RN or LVN license, government-issued identification, professional malpractice liability insurance, current CPR/BLS certification, TB documentation, Hepatitis B documentation or declination, applicable HIPAA training documentation, health clearance when required, professional information, and background screening.
Additional credentials, training, screenings, certifications, or documentation may be required for a particular client, specialty pharmacy, healthcare facility, healthcare organization, or referral.
Nurses are responsible for keeping required credentials current. Maintaining complete and up-to-date documentation allows TLC to determine more efficiently whether a nurse meets the requirements of a particular opportunity when one becomes available.
What to Expect After Joining the Registry
Joining the TLC Nurse Solutions registry does not guarantee work or require a nurse to accept opportunities.
When TLC receives a referral that may align with a nurse’s qualifications, geographic preferences, clinical experience, and availability, we typically communicate the opportunity by text and may also communicate by phone or email.
The nurse can review the available information and determine whether they are interested. Assignment-specific requirements are communicated as applicable, and accepted opportunities are treated as professional commitments.
Once a nurse accepts an opportunity, clear communication becomes especially important. Scheduling changes, documentation, client or referral-partner concerns, and other matters affecting TLC’s coordination should be communicated through the appropriate TLC channels.

Professional Independence and Responsibility
Independent nurses referred through TLC retain responsibility for their own nursing practice and professional judgment.
TLC does not provide medical orders or direct clinical care. Nurses perform services within their individual licensure, qualifications, applicable law, physician orders, established healthcare plans, and requirements of the applicable care setting or referral.
Independent nurses are also responsible for maintaining their own professional qualifications, business expenses, insurance, taxes, and other obligations associated with operating independently.
TLC provides the referral and coordination structure surrounding services arranged through the registry while respecting the nurse’s independent professional role.
